Has anyone else found how difficult it is to use the annual passes at Disneyland? We bought the mid-tier one and could never find a date that we could go; I think we went twice the entire year. What's the best way to go on these?

You can upgrade to a better pass or go online and look at the schedule for available days. We bought the bottom tier passes with all weekends and summer months blocked out. But, we are completely happy with that. We homeschool and will be able to go at least once a month except during the summer. The dates are blocked out for a reason. They are busy days. We want to go on slow days.

Wanted to also add that the Tropicana Inn and Suites http://www.tropicanainn-anaheim.com/ was very good for staying over and enjoying the park over two days. We got a room for about $99 and it is right accross the street from the main gate -- SO convenient. It's nothing fancy, but very clean, basic and has everything we needed (I think they have a free breakfast but we went into the park for the pancake breakfast with all the characters). It was great seeing the Disney fireworks from our balcony and they provide parking right there -- really worked out SO WELL and made Disneyland so much more enjoyable!
